Hammerhead Shark

If you spot one of these beauties, consider yourself lucky. The great hammerhead is the largest of the hammerhead family, reaching up to 20ft in length (don’t expect to see a 20-footer). They are fast moving and can be especially inquisitive, so don’t be alarmed if they come check you out. Be sure to admire the very tall dorsal fin on these sharks.

This phenomenal photo was captured by John Nussbaum of ScubaGirls fame. He was enjoying a dive on the USCG Duane in Key Largo when this majestic creature cruised over top of him.
